Here is your final exam. Good luck!

Please add a comment below with your final project address and/or reminding me how you delivered an academic essay.

I will start grading very early Tuesday.

Typo

Hey Bradley. I just noticed a typo on your concepts page…

whoch

…in the definition of fair use.

Wordpress Validation

A question for others using Wordpress to host weblogs, because I am curious and stumped–do we have to validate those pages? Because I don’t have access to that code. Clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone really wants to see it, the blog I’ve attached to my site is here: nerdyladies.wordpress.com

It’s nothing very profound. I’ve mostly scribbled a few posts in the vein of “Look at this cool thing I found!” and prodded my members to post too.

Flickr editing

For those of you with Flickr accounts, note that you can now use it to edit photos. Just log in, go to a photo page, press “Edit” in the controls above the photo, and away you go, via the Picnik service.

The basic functions are: rotate, crop, resize, exposure, colors, sharpen, and red-eye removal. The “create” inferface allows text annotation, filters, and other things. Pretty cool…

Final Exam

Bradley, have you decided what version our final is going to be?

Final Projects

I am assuming that our final projects need to be completed and posted somewhere by the time of the final exam. Is this correct? If not, please, someone, let me know. Thanks!

My website

Bradley, I made my site into a wordpress.  I think it works a lot better this way, and I have gotten it going pretty well I think.  If you or anyone else in the class has some suggestions on improving it, please let me know.  Here’s the link and if you want leave some comments on the site.

Testing, testing

Folks, I will be in class both days this week. On Monday we will do evaluations. We will also consider user testing again, returning to our readings from week 11.

On Monday in class, plan to work on user testing protocols for your site. What are your users? What are their tasks? Prepare a list of things to test in class Monday and Wednesday. We will write up formal testing protocols like those I shared with you in class.

No class 11/28

My wife is sick, so I have to cancel Macomb class and office hours Wed 11/28. I’m sorry about this. I’ll attend to any comments here as well as I can.

My Website

Hey everyone.  I decided to scrap the old site and redo the whole thing and with some help, I think it looks pretty good.  So go ahead and check it out and give me some feedback.  I’d appricate it.  Also I need help thinking of a website description, so any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks everyone and here’s the link.

Winding down

I have sent out commentary on all the drafts. Four were very, very good. Two showed strong promise—rapid improvement since the preliminary draft. Four of you still have quite a bit of work left.

Regardless of the category you fit into:

  • Answer questions and refine your site with user testing. As you know, this doesn’t have to be complicated. We will return to user testing the last week of the semester. I will provide a specific assignment on 11/28.
  • As the semester winds down, I am happy to help you as much as I can. Office hours have not changed (M W 11-12:30 and Th 2-3). I can also make appointments with you.
  • Please continue to use the weblog as a space to learn and share. In most cases this will provide a quicker answer than emailing me—especially this time of year.
  • Please ensure the date and time of the final examination is in your calendar: Mon Dec 10 at 6:00pm. Final projects are due at that time as well. I will begin grading final projects the morning after the final exam.

I welcome your questions.
