Friday I ran 4 miles in 0:35:30. I started out waaaay too fast, and realized it was much hotter than I expected. Then I reached my turnaround point, and realized I’d be fighting a 10-15mph wind all the way home. While this did help me cool off, my pace plummeted, and then I got a cramp. Suck. I bulled through it, but had to drop to a walk for the last tenth mile. The splits tell the story: 7:45, 7:58, 9:13, 10:32.
Saturday, I ran 4.25 miles with Doug in 0:42:30; that’s a much better pace, and we were pretty even on splits. As we ran, I watched some map data. I have to conclude the Forerunner is not that accurate as far as elevation is concerned; it showed figures as much as 30 feet different as we ran on flat ground.
Today I ran with the Macomb Road Runners, 6 miles in 52:50. I hadn’t been out with that group in too long. Great folks.
Tomorrow I’m supposed to do 7 with Doug at 7:00. Seven at seven.
