Speed
I’ve been running shorter distances lately at a faster pace. Doug is marathon training using the FIRST plan, and I’m happy to tag along for some of the runs. On 9/1 we ran a 2mi warmup, 3mi at 8:00, and a 2mi cooldown (total time 0:59:30). Today we ran a mile warmup to the track, did 4 sets of 1200m intervals at 7:00 pace, with 90 sec walking rest between, then a mile and a half of cooldown.
Also, I played football Sunday, 9/4. I failed to break anything (thankfully) but got my share of dings and dents and have been sore since. Monday 9/5 I ran 4 miles in 0:34:30; the last mile was all uphill and was slow.
Emailed a friend today about cross-training with him. Adding that to the mix would be good. I also need to get some longer runs in. Doug and I plan a 12 mile run Saturday.
