Midweek, and a bunch of stuff going on…
Teaching: classes started yesterday. This semester I teach three courses: 180, first-year composition, 481, new media, and 483, professional editing. Two have already met, and I think they’re going well. The third meets today.
Family: Mom and Dad Dilger arrived yesterday. It was their first time seeing Madelyn, so hugs abound, and Mom was up with me at 6 today looking for a chance to hold the girl. Hopefully, now that they’ve made the drive, we’ll get three or four feet of snow.
Beer: Sunday night Doug Bourne helped me brew an American Porter, pitching onto the yeast cake of the American Pale from last week. Pow, immediate fermentation. I didn’t use enough water (OG 1.066) so I’ll be adding a gallon or so when I rack it. The pale is still chugging away nicely; the stout looks to be almost done. Yeehaw.
Argh, pdfs!
Me want hyperlinks, websites, dynamic scripting!
Me want computer classroom. Feel free to donate $100K to the WIU Foundation English & Journalism account, and we’ll set up the “Yellow Dog Center for Hyperlinks, Websites, Dynamic Scripting, and No Damned PDFS” in a jiffy.
“Yellow Dog Center for Hyperlinks, Websites, Dynamic Scripting, and No Damned PDFS” hmmmm.. Me like sound to that.
Yeah, and YDCHWDSNDPDF is a fine acronym!
