Treadmill today

-5° and 20+ mph wind today. According to the National Weather Service:

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.

Not satisfied with this, I decided to poke my head (covered with a hat, of course) outside. It wasn’t so bad. Then I got around the corner of the house, and stepped into the wind.

Pow! It felt like someone was standing on my chest. Make no mistake: it’s cold!

Did I ever mention how much I like the treadmill? Ours is a K-Mart cheapie with no motor, and is really designed for walking, not running. Regardless, I managed to log 45:00 of manually powered bliss.

Update, 2/21: 42° today, so I crammed in 4 miles after classes. 33:00 (8:15/mi).
