Four-twelve

The pitch of my garage roof.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, 57 minutes after my last class ends.

Genesis: “When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.”

The hours I used to work at Publix most Fridays.

When Jon Gruden has been awake 55 minutes, and 100 minutes before I usually arise.

A bad-ass car by Chrysler.

Never my address.

From now until October, for Madelyn.

I used to work those shifts at a Publix too. Ah, the days when making minimum wage was less insulting.

Yeah, the “shift of death” was my usual stint for quite some time: 4-12 Friday, 12-close Saturday, and 12-close Sunday. That added up to about a hundred bucks.

…my wife’s birthday. Also the day, she keeps reminding me, that I’m flying to Atlanta for PCA/ACA conference. Dog house, here I come!

Brendan, I’m delivering a paper on Wyndham Lewis at that very same conference; and Clancy will be here too.

Moving on to more appropriately nerdy matters, have you decided to accept my Rhem 2 challenge?

I hadn’t thought of dates. But nothing interesting has happened to me on April 12. Not that I can remember.

Hey, we have to organize a UF Alumni 4Cs meetup! Jonathan and I have the Blogging SIG on Friday night until 7:30; what are you guys doing after that? There are lots of other possible times; this is only a first suggestion.

Pack? Are you leaving that quickly?

I dunno. I may be heading back to Florida. At this point, it’s hard to tell.

Interesting concept for a blog post. Did something interesting relating to four-twleve inspire the post? To me it means 48 more minutes of work, followed by three hours with my son, followed by four to twelve hours of reading/research/paper writing/sleep.

It was first Publix, some years ago. And this:

Well, I got off the train somewhere in Arkansas
And I worked up the guts to call my mother-in-law
She said, “I’ll tell you where she is, if you act right.”
“She’s workin’ four to twelve at Trucker’s World tonight.”
