Two times eight
Two eight mile runs, one back in Gainesville, and one this evening in Macomb:
- 3/12, 8mi, 1:14:00 (9:20/mi). This was around 82°—way warmer than I’m used to!
- 3/18, 8mi, 1:09:38. I ran the first 4 in 30:41 (7:41/mi), which puts the last 4 at 38:57 (9:44/mi).
Two times eight is sixteen, which is where the Gator men are headed after beating UW-Milwaukee 82-60 today. This team just keeps getting better: after their three-game skid in late February a lot of folks thought the Gators would exit the SEC tournament early, come into the NCAAs at a 5 seed, and lose in the first round.
Now the Gators are seven wins and a SEC championship past that three-game losing streak. They will sleep in their own beds tonight and come together tomorrow to learn who their next opponent will be. Kudos to Billy Donovan for building this team—and though you might grow sick of hearing this the next few days, it’s a true team that he’s built. Watching them play the past few days has been great: excellent ball movement, assists galore, and a strong bench. Here’s hoping I can watch them play a few days more.
