CCCC, two runs

I’m back from CCCC. I had a pretty good conference; I only attended one session which I didn’t like. Of course, that’s due largely in part to my limited conference attendance. I think I went to six sessions. I skipped the chair’s address—apparently she said “Technology is a hobby horse.” Whatever. I didn’t attend any of the “special sessions” by the arrayed expressivists. Sorry, I just don’t care. But I don’t mean to imply the conference was unproductive for me—quite the opposite. I spent my time conferencing—talking with Derek Moeller and Collin Brooke about CCC Online, meeting with the open source position statement folks, talking with Joe Hardin about Composition Forum, catching up with a bunch of folks from Florida, learning about an MMORPG being developed with writing in mind, making plans for a few more conferences, and talking about the Tag A collection with a few very smart folks. I also supported the Chicago craft brewing industry, though not as much as I’ve done in the past. And I watched my Gators advance to the Elite Eight.

Next year, NYC. CFP is out already. Time to get cracking.

Two runs recently, one before the conference (3/22: 8 miles, 1:12:00) and one during (3/24: 0:35:00, treadmill, 8:00/mi pace). Hopefully I’ll add another run today, amidst the grading and other stuff I’m taking care of.
