FIRST week three
Week three of FIRST training is going well. I’ve finally started real cross-training, which is going to help immeasurably.
6/4: walked two miles with Erin and Madelyn.
6/6 (speed): 6 x 800 at @ 3:33 average. Short on sleep, this was all willpower. Target was 3:25.
6/8 (tempo): 3 mile warmup, then 3.5 mi @ 7:28. Much better rested.
6/9: swam 31 laps in 53 min. I took frequent breaks and mixed strokes and paces.
We postponed the long run to Sunday 6/11—which is good because it’s 52° and raining now. I’m glad I’m drinking coffee and reading instead of slogging through a wet, cold half-marathon. And I’m a little sore from yesterday’s swim, though that feels good. About time.
