Wed 8/16 speed work: 3 x 1600 at the Y, 6:50/pace, followed by strength training.
Thu 8/17 tempo: 5mi, 41:26 (8:15/mi).
Sat 8/19 a bastardly long run. 20 miles in foggy, sticky weather, 3:09 (9:30/mi). I drained my Camelbak and cramped like mad after 16 miles. This was the week I wanted to push past 20 to go a full marathon distance, but I just couldn’t do it. And now I realize I was (am) fighting a cold, too. Bwah.
OK, I’ll stop whining now.
