FIRST week sixteen
Cross-training today: playing football for 90 minutes or so, two-on-two with a fifth man rotating in and out. So lots of running. For the record, I am the Worst Quarterback Ever. Injury report is thin: only a few scrapes, bumps, and bruises. Nothing major. Oh boy, was it glorious.
My feet have definitely gotten wider from the long runs. We hadn’t played since March or so, and I had to loosen the laces on my soccer cleats nearly all the way to get my feet in ‘em. I couldn’t even get into my football cleats, so Vajo adopted them. Too small for me, but just right for him.
This week: 8 x 800 @ 3:25 for speed, 5 miles at 7:58 for tempo, and 13 miles @ 8:23 for long run.

Hrm, right hamstring bothering me a bit now. Time for ice. I hope I didn’t screw something up during the long run Saturday.

8 x 800 @ 3:25 or better today. My hamstring is a little tight, but doesn’t hurt. On the other hand, I found myself dizzy after the fifth interval, and I had to sit down for a bit. Hrm.
Also, I wore warm-up pants today: 53° and foggy!
