Snowed in

Three and a half years after we moved to Illinois, we’ve got our first real snowstorm. WIU is closed. The wind’s blowing so much it’s hard to put an exact figure on it, but I’d say at least eight inches of snow fell overnight–and there’s probably a half-inch of ice under that. And it’s still coming down. Here’s a short silent movie showing the snow falling (MP4, 1.1MB).
I put the same movie on YouTube but it looks terrible.
I left a window open on the front porch. Now I have to shovel my porch. Doh! But once the snowplows have done their work, it’s time to go sledding! Until then, time for coffee and catching up on some reading.

Now this is what a snow day should be, 8″+ of snow. We had a snow day yesterday, campus closed, but it didn’t really snow. We had a little rain and very cold temps (20s), and streets were a bit icy. We’ll be heading back up to the 40s and 50s today, though. Enjoy staying at home!!!

It sounds like you got hit with what we were supposed to get. We got abou 1/4 of ice and just over two inches of snow. Another 3 inches or so came down as sleet/rain. They’d been predicting 6-8 inches of snow. I hope you enjoy!

Have you tried using Dreamhost’s FLV converter?

Not yet. I just found out about it yesterday.
So here it is. I think it’s still pretty craptastic when compared to the mpeg.
