Doins

I’ve reached the time in winter break when I think, “Jeez, where did the time go?” The temptation, of course, is for panic to set in: will I get my spring syllabi done? the double bill of essay revisions? the long runs? the editing for our collection? the T&P portfolio? the work on the house?

Of course, the answer to all these questions is, “Yes, silly.” I’ll get it done. Though not (never) as quickly as I wanted. Right now, Erin and I are feeling the pressure to bust our butts since we’ve still got the two biggest rooms in our house blocked off as we patch cracks, recondition wood trim, and prepare for painting. And we’re a little tired of spending so much time in the basement. And we’re a little tired, period.

One way to deal with this: make a list of what I’ve done so far over the break, and don’t worry about what’s left. So:

  • got reacquainted with Madelyn
  • created master schedule for all courses
  • set up central repository for computer files
  • drafted syllabi for 180 and 381
  • cleaned my workbench
  • reviewed six essays for From A to A
  • sorted a million beer bottles
  • visited (Great) Grandpa for five days
  • stained and polyurethaned three windows
  • lots of sanding, patching, & other trim work
  • drafted T&P portfolio

Hrm, I’m probably forgetting something… but that’s enough. BTW, Go Gators!
