My Gators repeat as national champs. Yes, yes, yes. Jeremy Foley is gonna have to build a bigger trophy case. A nice problem to have.

But this is not just a victory for those who wear the orange and blue; it’s good news for everyone who believes in college basketball. Here’s to getting together with your friends and doing something great. Here’s to extra passes and extra practice, to team effort, to textbook inside/outside play, and the collective anguish of a million Noah haters. Florida’s super six—yes, that includes Chris Richard—made it happen. And as he did Saturday night, Billy Donovan made the opposing coach look powerless.

Nice work, boys. Go Gators.

Update 4/5: BillyD decides to stay at Florida, even as the 04s head for the NBA. Good for him and them. I don’t buy the argument that Kentucky is that much better a job, especially given the fact that the Donovan kids are happy in Gainesville. And you gotta think about that.
