Running around

The first week of classes means lots of running around: checking on books, getting syllabi photocopied, wrapping up summer computer deployments, etc. And I’ve been running around the track, too; good speed work on Tuesday 8/21 (12 x 400m @ 1:40 or better (6:40/mi)) and a tempo run today (5mi, 41:20, or 8:17/mi). Missed a long run last week since I spent one day in bed sick and didn’t want to push it. But I’m looking at a half-marathon on Saturday.

I’m happy to say I enter the fall semester with no new projects or responsibilities–so my long process of getting un-overbooked is almost done. I just wish it hadn’t taken 10 years for me to figure all this out.
